What do Dying People Regret Most?

What do Dying People Regret Most?

It's sad but we all see people dying each day, especially being in the healthcare industry. And, of course as we grow older this becomes a more normal part of everyday life. But what do people who are dying say that they regret the most…you may be surprised.

It has been found that the most common regrets are fairly common for most people in America and they are:

Of course, working too much and not taking time to enjoy each day while they were alive. When we put our career first sometimes we miss our children growing up and even the companionship of our partners and/or friends.

Not saying what needs to be said is a very big regret at life's end for many as well. Expressing your feelings is important and you never know when it's the last time you may see somebody. Tell them you love them and be open to communication. It will help you to live longer and enjoy each day a little more.

Worrying about things all the time doesn't do anybody any good, but we all do it. It's hard not to worry about the future and even things we have done in the past. Everyday life is hard for many people and we find it difficult to enjoy the little things. But that is what you have to do…take time for yourself, breathe, get out in nature, get out in the sunshine. Do something that makes you happy each day if possible, even if only for a few short minutes….It can be about you sometime! And be thankful. Gratitude goes a long way and we all really do have so much to be grateful for.

And, do you always have to do what's expected of you? Of course, in some respects the answer to this is yes….but you have to be true to yourself first. Live your life, not what someone else wants you to do. You have to make yourself happy, because no one else can or will.

Caring for yourself is very important. You should eat healthy foods, move your body and do something that makes you happy. You don't want to be one of these people who never did what they want and all of a sudden, it's too late. Do it today! Smile, keep moving and have a great day!
