Are you aware of all the apps available that can make your life so much easier if you have a smart phone? It's amazing and if there is not an app for what you are looking for now, I'm sure there is one in development.

Apps to help students in study, education and exams:

Human Anatomy Atlas – award-winning and contains 3800 images and has built in quizzes
Mini Nurse – nursing school basics
Taber's Medical Dictionary – medical dictionary including pics and video and 65,000 definitions
Nursing Essentials- great content and detailed images, keep critical info right in your pocket
NCLEX apps from Davis Mobile – nursing study materials
Nursing in a Flash – 4700 study questions converted to flash cards
Med Mnemonics – to help you with medical terminology
NCSBN Flashcard App – puts a medication library on your phone

Apps for current events:

MedPage Today – current medical news
Medscape WebMD – WebMD features and medical news stories

Reference Apps:

Pill Identifier – identify over 12,000 meds without a label
Micromedex Drug References Essentials – drug guide with info on over 4500 search terms
Symptomia – input symptoms and see possible associated conditions
IDdx: Infectious Disease Queries – disease database

Nurse's Pocket Guide – includes assessment tools and sample care plans
Omnio – prescription drug info, medical calculators, medical news, access to journals, symptom diagnosis and everything a nurse may need.
MediBabble Translator – to help translate and communicate with non-English speaking patients.

Planning and Organization Apps:

As you can see from this short list there is an app for whatever you need today. Some are free and some can cost from 99 cents to $39.99. Most often you can preview the ones that are costly and see if you can utilize before spending the money. Travel nurses and traveling healthcare professionals have so many great tools easily accessible in today's healthcare industry. A lot of these apps once downloaded do not require internet access to use them which is a bonus I would think.
