The RN in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) will provide care for children and adolescents with high-acuity or life-threatening conditions. These patients require constant monitoring and observation and the PICU RN is trained to perform life-saving, invasive interventions to stabilize patients and apply crisis management techniques if required. These nurses also must know regulations regarding treatment and may need to function as patient advocates for those who are not able to do so. The PICU RN will take patient history and diagnose their status so that a patient care plan can be implemented. The RN will also analyze psychological, behavioral and physical traits and assess potential risks. Helping the families of the patient by educating and guiding them is also a requirement of this position.

Ever thought of spending some time in sunny Florida? It's warm here now of course, as always. As a native I would advise planning on coming to Florida during the late fall or winter. Summer is very hot and I live on the coast where we normally have a little breeze. The inland areas are much hotter but if you like the heat, come on down, and of course everywhere you go there is A/C so I guess it's not really an issue any more. There are plenty of jobs available in Florida as you can see here if you would like to explore the Sunshine State.
Or maybe how about spending the summer months in Colorado? Hiking the Rockies, enjoying the beautiful outdoors, whitewater rafting or just checking out all the beautiful sights and sounds in the area? Who knows what adventures you may find in Colorado? Here is a link to some of the jobs available in that area.
