Just Breathe…..

Yes, it's true, if you can just pause for a sec, take a deep breath in, hold it, then exhale slowly, it can change your attitude and outlook. Of course, if you can take a few such deep breaths it will help you even more. If there is any way you can get outdoors to take a deep breath, even better!

Working in the healthcare industry can be very stressful, even filled with life and death situations and decisions. Long hours on your feet and never enough time to get everything done can lead to way too much stress in your life. It is necessary to learn methods to reduce the stress and relieve the pressure.

Meditation, yoga, exercise, even walking, all can be very helpful to release some of that stress. But believe it or not, even just a few short minutes of simple breathing can work wonders. Make yourself comfortable in an upright position and close your eyes if possible. Breathe in slowly and with purpose and hold for a second then breathe out slowly. Let your mind follow the breath, in and out. Even one or two of these mindful breaths can have benefits and improve your attitude and mental clarity.

Just a reminder of simple things that can help you in your everyday stressful world as a provider of quality healthcare to your patients. Take a minute and just breathe.
