Fast Paced Emergency Departments Need RN'sEmergency Departments across the country are in need of good Registered Nurses. Travel jobs are open in top facilities in major metropolitan and rural areas of the US today as the nursing shortage continues to be a problem for the healthcare industry.

Registered Nurses in the Emergency Department must be able to think quickly, take decisive action and have a strong stomach. There are is no telling what you may see in the ER. The Emergency Room RN will work as part of the team consisting of physicians, other nurses and healthcare professionals to provide care and assist in critical care of the patient.

The Emergency Room is often the first line of defense for accidents, allergic reactions, and all kinds of urgent medical care needs. It is necessary work quickly to assess the needs of the patient, prioritize care based on the critical nature and work to stabilize the patient and then treat the problem.

Communication skills, critical thinking skills, attention to detail, remaining calm under pressure as well as patience and compassion are just a few of the many skills necessary to be a good RN in the Emergency Department.
