The Emergency Room RN will work as part of the team consisting of physicians, other nurses and healthcare professionals to provide care and assist in critical care of the patient.

The Emergency Room is often the first line of defense for accidents, allergic reactions, and all kinds of urgent medical care needs. It is necessary work quickly to assess the needs of the patient, prioritize care based on the critical nature and work to stabilize the patient and then treat the problem.

Communication skills, critical thinking skills, attention to detail, remaining calm under pressure as well as patience and compassion are just a few of the many skills necessary to be a good RN in the Emergency Department.
