CNM Travelers in demand at top facilities!

CNM Travelers in demand at top facilities!

Certified Nurse Midwives are needed across America in top facilities. CNM's are taking over many of the duties that were previously handled by physicians. In the US it is necessary to complete an accredited CNM program and pass a national qualifying exam from the American Midwifery Certification Board to work as a Certified Nurse Midwife. You must first have your Bachelors Degree in Nursing before you can enter one of these programs.

In 2014 midwife-attended births accounted for a little more than 12% of all vaginal births in the US. About 94% of these births occurred in the hospital setting, and the rest at home or birthing centers. CNMs are skilled professionals that practice in a wide variety of clinical settings as well, treating and diagnosing patients and referring them to specialists if necessary.

APN jobs, including Certified Nurse Midwives, are expected to grow as much as 31% in the next few years, must faster than the average. Of course salary will depend on your geographic location, hours and type of care provided in the facility. CNM's sometimes provide the full scope of women's health services including prenatal care and gynecologic care, in addition to assisting in the birth process. They can also provide peri and post menopausal care, write prescriptions and provide education and counseling to their patients.
